Important Statement Issued by the Society of Teachers of the Islamic Seminary of Qom about Marja'eyah

In the name of God, the Merciful the Compassionate

The issue of Marja'eyah (Jurisprudence) is one of the greatest issues which cannot be separable from the expedience of Muslims, their independence and dignity. It cannot either be studied and considered without keeping an eye on the conspiracies and plots hatched by infidelity and arrogance.
The Society of Teachers of the Islamic Seminary of Qom discussed this issue during several sessions until it reached a conclusion in 11/9/73 A. H. (solar calendar) that the Grand Ayatollahs whose names are mentioned below are qualified for marja'eyah and that following any of them is permissible, God knows best.
1 - Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Muhammad Fazil Lankarani.
2 - Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Muhammad Taqi Bahjat.
3 - Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (the Esteemed Leader).
4 - Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Husain Wahid Khurasani.
5 - Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Jawad Tabrizi.
6- Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Musa Shubairi Zanjani.
7 - Grand Ayatollah Shaikh Makarem Shirazi.
