Meets Members of Majlis' Planning and Budget Commission

In this meeting, initially Dr. Subhani, Head of Majlis' planning and budget commission said, "the commission of Majlis' financial affairs tends to economic, financial and various schemes including creating balance in the fourth five years schemes which are due to be handed over to the government. Another objective of this commission is to attend to giant economic enterprises so as to make  them adaptable to the global economy including the fixation of market prices. Majlis is going to keep market prices of oil products fixed so it would help prevent price increase. Definitely, attending to the poor and the needy  is also one of Majlis's plans. Increase in monthly payment for the families which are registered by institutes and organizations is one of the measures which the Majlis has taken.

Thereupon, Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani said: "The best task which the seventh Majlis can carry out is to help decrease poverty and to tend to the affairs of the needy people including those of government employees who are faced with massive problems.  Majlis has to give priority to this in view of the fact that we have reached self-sufficiency in producing some products which is not only politically but also spiritually and from the view point of Islam the best thing that could happen. Attention must be paid to these people who have devoted themselves to Islam and the revolution."

In regards to increase in prices of oil products, His Eminence said: "We must not compare prices of these products with those of other countries because income rate in other countries is much higher."

His Eminence also said in regards to economic issues: "Those who are tackling the economical affairs of the country must take Iran's special situation and characteristics into consideration so they should not go for applying or enforcing the same thing that is applied in other countries because what is theoretically said is different from what is done in practice. Therefore, experienced individuals and experts in the area of economic and business affairs must be employed.

Finally, in view of Qom's water problem, His Eminence asked the executives in charge to take action in this regard. Because Qom is the base of the revolution. Moreover, pilgrims and travelers come from all the countries of the world and this is a must for Qom. So I ask you to pay more attention to the dear people of Qom who have shown great devotion and sacrifice for the revolution.  We must also commemorate the martyrdom of the nineteenth of Dei.  I hope that you will – Insha Allah – consider problems especially water problem and take action to solve them.
