5. Mubtadea

496. Mubtadea is a woman who sees blood for the first time. If she sees it for more than ten days and all the blood has common signs then she should refer to the prevailing habit among her relatives an consider her corresponding duration as Hayz and the rest as Istihaza.

497. If a Mubtadea sees blood for more than ten days, some bearing the signs of Hayz and other that of Istihaza, and if the blood with the signs of Hayz is seen for not less than three and not more than ten days, the blood which has the signs of Hayz, is Hayz and the blood which does not have the signs of Hayz, is Istihaza; but if she sees the blood bearing the signs of Hayz again after ten days, for example, she sees black blood for 5 days and then yellowish blood 9 days and again black blood for 5 days, she must consider the beginning of the first blood that bears the signs of Hayz, as Hayz and regarding its duration, she must refer to her relatives habit, and consider the rest as Istihaza

498. If a Mubtadea sees blood for more than 10 days, some of which bearing signs of Hayz and other having signs of Istihaza, and if the blood with the signs of Hayz is seen for less than 3 days or more than ten days, she must choose the beginning of the first blood which bears the signs of Hayz as her Hayz period and regarding the duration, she must refer to her relatives and consider the rest as Istihaza.
