Method of Friday prayer.1558. Friday prayer is two Rak’ats and its method is the same as Fajr prayer. It is Mustahab to recite Hamd and other Surah aloud and in first Rak’at after reciting Hamd, Surah Jumah is recited and in second Rak’at, Surah Monafeghoon is recited. 1559. Friday prayer has two Qunuts, the first one is offered before first Ruku and the second one is offered after Ruku of the second Rak’at. 1560. Friday prayer has two sermons, which are obligatory as original Namaz and they should be delivered by leader of Friday prayer and Friday prayer is not realized without those two sermons. 1561. The two sermons should be delivered before Namaz and if they are delivered after Namaz, it is void; and if there is enough time, Namaz should be offered again; and if the rules were not understood or any mistake has happened, delivering of sermons again is not necessary and even it is not obligatory to offer Namaz again. 1562. It is permitted to deliver two sermons before Zuhr, so that the end of them coincides with Zuhr. But, as a recommendatory precaution, they should be offered at Zuhr. 1563. In the first sermon, the preacher
should praise Allah, in any manner that offers this purpose.
1564. Preferably leader of prayer (Imam) should be a high level
speaker and he should talk according to circumstances and use clear and
unambiguous language and be familiar with what is happening to Muslims all
over the world, especially in his region. He must know expediency of Islam
and Muslims. He must be so courageous, so as not to fear anybody’s
reproaching in serving Allah. He must talk about right and wrong clearly
according to circumstances of time end place.
1565. It is preferable that the leader of Friday prayer talks in
his sermons about material and spiritual interests of Muslims and makes
people aware of positive and negative issues in Islamic and non-Islamic
countries and refers to Muslim’s requirements in material and divine
affairs and mentions whatever is important from political and economic
aspects for independence and authority of Muslims and explains the correct
way of establishing relations with other nations and warns people about
intervention of cruel and colonialist states in political and economic
affairs of Muslim which result in their colonization and exploitation. 1566. It is Mustahab that Friday prayer leader wears a Turban and Rida (cloak) from Yemenis cloth (or from Adan) during winter and summer and puts on his cleanest clothes and uses perfumes, so that he looks very dignified. He must be sited in pulpit before sermon and when Adhan is pronounced, so that he may start his sermon right after Adhan. He must face people and express greetings and people must welcome him with eager faces and he must lean on to something like bow or sword (weapon) and hand stick and people should position themselves in front of him. 1569. As a recommendatory precaution, the Friday prayer leader should not talk about anything unrelated to sermons during their delivering, but it has no harm to do that between two sermons and Namaz. 1570. The Friday prayer leader must sit down for a short while after the first sermon and then starts the second one. 1571. It is a recommendatory precaution that the leader of Friday prayer and audience have full Taharat (which is valid for Namaz) during sermons. 1572. It is a recommendatory precaution that the followers face the leader of Friday prayer during sermons and do not turn away from Qibla more than it is acceptable for Namaz. 1573. It is obligatory that all followers listen to sermons of Friday prayer leader and, as a recommendatory precaution, they must be silent and avoid talking which is Makrooh during delivering of sermons. If talking of followers stops others from hearing the sermons and destroys its effects, silence is a must. 1574. As an obligatory precaution, Friday prayer leader must say the glory of Allah, and invocation of mercy upon the Holy Prophet (AS) and the Holy Imams (S) in Arabic, even if the audience is not Arab. But he may preach and exhort people to piety in any other language. As a recommendatory precaution, the preaching and whatever is related to interests of Muslims should be rendered in the language of audience, and if the audience is consisted of different, if the followers are more than minimum (4), he may talk only in the language of minimum, but as a recommendatory precaution, he must preach in their languages. 1575. Second Adhan in Friday is an innovation (Bed’at) and Haraam. |
