It must be mentioned that following the demise of previous prominent religious authorities, like Grand Ayatollah Khomeini (a.r.) and Grand Ayatollah Khoei, Jame'ah Mudarresin (the Society of Instructors) of  Hawza-e Ilmiah (the Religious Seminary) of Qom, who are a group of highly qualified and most respected Mujtahids, in a statement has unanimously appointed Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani as the first of seven qualified Mujtahids to be followed by all Muslims.
